In 1997, the untimely and totally unexpected death of our then current sire, Yu Little Beggar [Beggar Bingo imp x Kitty's Gail imp], led us to escalate our search for a complementary sire for Beggar's progeny. Our intentions were, and always have been, to find a blend of halter and performance bloodlines to meet the needs of Australia's horse owning population. To this end, and after much soul searching, it was decided to purchase the then unshown 2yo colt, My Only Concention, from multi- World Show winning trainer Jason Smith in Texas, USA. photo - Mel Cruden

My Only Concention [better known as Muscles] was sired by World Champion and World Champion sire Concention [by Obvious Conclusion] and out of World Top 5 mare My Only Conclusion [a1/2 sister to a Reserve World Champion Pleasure Horse]. He arrived in Australia in November1997 in time to do a small stud season. Immediately the season finished, he was prepared for his first show season to introduce him to his Australian audience.
He swept all before him winning every major show entered. He did not start showing until March of 1998 but by the end of July 1998 he emerged Hi Point Stallion of Australia. Along the way, he had left in his wake, horses that had had a 7 month head start to the show season and were leading him by over 30 points. No small effort. He won the AQHA National Show, The NPHA, the Qld State Show and every major AA show he entered finishing the season with 97 A class points. At this point, the stud season loomed on the horizon and we made the decision to retire him and let his babies show themselves.
From this first small crop, the winners started to flow and have not stopped. He has left National Champions in every crop and, with age, his progeny continue to challenge in more disciplines and breeds. He is acknowledged for his ability to produce pretty and versatile foals that improve with age. He has also achieved a high percentage of colour when bred to Paint and Appaloosa mares.

He has sired one or more National Champions in every crop so far, both at halter as well as an endless stream of State and Futurity Champions from mares with vastly different pedigrees and conformation. He has proven himself one of, if not THE, most consistent sire in Australia for Type, Temperament and Conformation. His progeny are noted for their laidback attitude and trainability. With age, his progeny started their performance careers in Lunge Line and under saddle. Lois Mower's Appaloosa mare WJ Miss Concensus showed her versatility by being a champion lunge line filly but also winning Overall Hi Point Appaloosa Halter of Australia as well as Hi Point 2yo and under, Hi - Point of SA and making Lois Hi -Point Amateur Owner of Australia.
To follow this, Muscles' first crop turned 2yo. With this crop, his progeny won High Point Halter Horse of Australia and National Grand Champion Stallion [Premium Concent dec] and made their first ventures out under saddle. Premium Concent proved you can be a pretty Halter horse and perform by finishing 5th in the National Show 2yo HUS class and winning at State Show level. Concent To A Parr T became AQHA National Show High Point 2yo Performance Horse and also was the Highest scoring 2yo Performance Horse of the Opal Classics and the NPHA and went on to become a National Champion Halter Horse the following year. These versatile horses and other progeny put My Only Concention on the list of Top Ten Leading Sires of Performance Horses with his first crop under saddle. To produce Grand Champion Stallion and the 2yo High Point Performance Horse of the National Show with his first 2yo crop is a feat which will stand the test of time. These halter and performance efforts with his first ridden foals must surely be a rare, if not unique effort, by a first season performance sire. It shows the versatility of his bloodlines and the strength and consistency of his gene pool.

With the 2004 breeding season nearly upon us, we realised that the time was fast approaching for us to breed the daughters of My Only Concention that we had retained. Once again, what had been a leisurely look around, escalated into a full-scale search for the horse that had the bloodlines, performance and conformation to suit our fillies. Again, we wanted a horse that had both halter and performance in his pedigree particularly the dam side. We looked long and hard for just the right horse and settled on several to have a closer look. In particular, we liked the bloodlines of Obvious Conclusion to whom My Only Concention is line bred. Having decided to pursue the lines of Obvious Conclusion, we then wanted a horse with a top performing family on his dam's side. None of the younger horses we looked at met our criteria and so we started looking at well-performed older horses. photo - Mel Cruden

Obvious Conclusion has been, and still is, one of the all time leading sires and sire of sires. He, his sons and grandsons regularly fill 10 of the top 20 positions on the leading sires' lists. He himself has produced over 600 winners of over 16,000 points and 20 World, Reserve World and AQHA Champions. His sire sons, grandsons and female line are legendary including Kid Clu and Touchdown Kid, currently 2 of the leading sires.
Having settled on a sire line, we wanted a horse that would produce outstanding riding horses, as has My Only Concention. Obvious Explosion was unexpectedly found when we had almost given up. He qualified for the World as a yearling, earning 30 points and his Open ROM with 20 Grands and 8 Reserves. He finished the year as High Point Horse of the Oregon QHA.
His dam is the World Top 5 Open and Amateur mare Fiveisenough by leading sire Skipa Star (World Champion & World Champion Sire). She won 52 Grands and 16 Reserves and earned her superior at Halter.

His grand dam (Lady Mabel) has produced winners of almost 300 Halter points and 400 Performance points. They number 5 AQHA Open and Youth champions as well as 3 World Performance placegetters and a Superior Pleasure horse. Lady Mabel's full sister is Hi Mabel who is a 3 time Open World Champion Trail Horse as well as a Reserve World Champion and an AQHA Champion. She is the dam of Hicando who is a multiple World Open and Amateur Champion Trail Horse and multiple Open and Amateur Year End High Point winner and placegetter in Trail and Western Riding. He has earned over 1600 points.
The third dam of Obvious Explosion is Mabel Red Dog, who has produced the winners of 700 points and their Awards include 5 World and a Reserve World titles as well as 5 World placegetters. She has also produced the winners of 2 AQHA Champion awards, 5 Open and Amateur Superiors in Performance and 6 Open and Amateur Performance ROM's.
As a sire, Obvious Explosion has, from limited opportunities, produced some notable offspring. He has sired a Superior Halter horse (open, amateur), World Show qualifiers, Halter Futurity winners, multiple Longe Line Futurity winner, State High Point year-end winners, Performance points earners, and National High Point Amateur Halter Mare (4th place). He also has a colt being shown on the hunter/jumper circuit in California.
From a small first crop in Australia, he has produced several halter winners including the Harris family's stunning Res. National Champion Paint Bred filly - RU Kid N Me who achieved her ROM in 3 shows and State Res. Champion QH weanling colt, Obvious Choice. His first babies are under saddle in 2008.
